About the Cause |
|
Raphael's Life House
www.raphaelslifehouse.org (RLH), a
Covenant House NJ
www.covenanthousenj.org program in
Elizabeth, is a safe-haven for homeless,
pregnant women and their babies, once born.
RLH provides a safe and supportive living
environment within which these mothers are
offered services to help them develop the
skills and values needed for responsible
parenthood.
All women between the
ages of 18 and 23 are welcome regardless of
race, creed, color, national origin, or
economic status. RLH’s goal is to give these
women the tools needed to establish an
independent living situation for themselves
and their families. To learn more about

About the Ministry |
|
The Blessed Expectations
Ministry is a group of volunteers committed
to empowering women and their children by
improving the quality of their day-to-day
lives. We believe this can be achieved in
various ways including, but not limited to,
creating a safe, nurturing, and comfortable
environment in which to develop and grow.
This is why Blessed Expectations is
assisting with the transformation of the
living space at Raphael's Life House. Your
donations and our hard work will make this
possible. |

Service ~
What does that look
like to you and how can you incorporate an act of
service into your daily life?
Many people think
of service as volunteer work or donating to a
charity and that is most certainly true. However,
being of service can manifest itself in a myriad of
forms and you have the opportunity to be of service
every day through simple acts of kindness.
One easy way to be
of service is through prayer. Often times we think
of prayer as asking a higher power for something
just for ourselves or our family ~ but if you pick
one person with whom you are having an issue with
and pray for them the entire day, you are being of
service to them. One of my favorite authors,
Kathleen McGowan says in her book A Source Of
Miracles
“Every prayer for peace eradicates an impulse
of war”. So simply by praying for others we are
changing the world.
Another philosophy
about service is the universal law of attraction.
When we ask the universe “How may I serve you?” the
universe always asks the same thing of us. So when
we are in service our lives almost immediately
become more aligned with a higher power. In your
work, think of ways you can be of “service”. Make
each day an offering to your higher power by doing
your job well and with love. Smile at those you meet
along the way and try this on for size ~ Don’t say
anything about anyone if it is not in the spirit of
love or fellowship…even for one day.
Be the change you wish to see in this world ~
Gandhi. |
